Officials

Officials are present at all competitions to enforce the technical rules of swimming so the competition is fair and equitable. Officials attend clinics, pass a written test and work meets before being certified. All parents are encouraged to get involved with some form of officiating. POSEIDON SWIMMING FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES PURCHASE OF OLYMPIC TRIALS POOLS

Regional swimming club to bring state-of-the-art athletic facilities to Richmond

RICHMOND, VA. – The Poseidon Swimming Foundation today announced that it has purchased the two pools that will be used during the 2008 U.S. Olympic Trials in Omaha, Nebraska. Swimmers hoping to make the U.S. Olympic team and represent the United States in Beijing for the Summer Games will compete in these pools – a 50 meter competition pool and a 50 meter plus 25 meter off shoot, warm-up pool - beginning June 29. The pools will be transported from Omaha and permanently installed in a state-of-the-art, full-scale aquatics center as part of a regional sports complex planned for Chesterfield County. The complex, a collaboration between Poseidon Swimming and the Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club, will also feature four lighted turf soccer fields and two lighted natural grass fields.

RICHMOND KICKERS YOUTH SOCCER CLUB, POSEIDON SWIMMING FOUNDATION ANNOUNCE PARTNERSHIP

Richmond, VA - (Tuesday, January 22, 2008) - The Richmond Kickers Youth Soccer Club and the Poseidon Swimming Foundation today announced plans to build a state-of-the-art sports complex in Chesterfield County featuring six new athletic fields and a full-scale aquatics center.
