| Happy New Year! |
|
A New Year brings opportunity to create new beginnings. This is a time to improve quality of life, quality of educational efforts and a time to improve athletic endeavors. Most call these resolutions and as human nature consistently reveals, rarely accomplished. Rare is the person that will make huge changes in short periods of time. Planning to change ones life in drastic form is infrequently successful. I would suggest that we attempt to improve our efforts one percent each day. Focus on little changes that over time will significantly enhance opportunity for success. I will make a plan for my week. I will attend practice today. I will streamline off every wall today. Tomorrow, in addition to the aforementioned I will increase my effort level on the main set. With little improvements, one percent per day, we may move closer towards an improved level of excellence. Presented in this fashion improvement appears quite simple. Most people know what they want, they usually know how to get what they want yet they usually do not do it. Most fail due to a lack of communication with those significant people in their lives. Share your goals with others so that they may assist you when the going gets rough. I suggested that it is easy to do by improving one percent a day. Right, you would agree? Over time, most of the time and not long into the New Year most will not be willing to pay the price to continue with their stated resolution. To accomplish anything of significance you must be willing to pay the price. Paying the price, one percent each day will enhance opportunity for success. Start with a plan and improve performance daily by one percent. Sometimes your one percent will be simply showing up for your commitment. Sometimes your one percent will be meeting friends or family after your training session rather than skipping or cutting short training time. Yes, most of us truly wish to make improvements in our activities. Paying the price is essential to accomplish your dreams and goals. Strive to improve by one percent today and improve your opportunity for success. I look forward to the possibilities. TED |
