Michael relocated to Richmond in September 2001 from Greenville, North Carolina. Coach Julian, a four-year letterman and 1998-1999 CAA Scholar Athlete Award recipient at East Carolina University, holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science. While in North Carolina Michael was a volunteer assistant at East Carolina University as well as Head Age Group Coach for the local USA team. He completed his Masters in Recreation at Virginia Commonwealth University. Since his arrival, Coach Julian has produced USA Swimming Top 16 athletes and Virginia Swimming State Champions and is certified Level 3 with the American Swimming Coaches Association. Michael has worked as a Chesterfield County substitute teacher, served as Head Coach for the Briarwood summer swim team and has supported Virginia Swimming on the Eastern Zones coaching staff. Coach Julian is responsible for the organization and direction of Poseidon Swimming’s Age Group programs.  Michael, his wife Julie, and 2 schildren reside in Chesterfield County.
