Seven Poseidon athletes traveled to Buffalo for the 2008 Eastern Zone Swimming Championship and returned home with great stories and a bit of hardware. Susan Justis led the charge in the 15 and over girls securing top place on the awards stand in 4 events and third in two others snagging her first Junior National cut, 2:04.8 in the 200 Backstroke. Robyn Endsley stood on the top of the podium twice winning the breast events and managed two seconds, one third and a fifth. Susan and Robyn finished 2nd and 6th overall in the girls high point scoring while also contributing to wins in both 400 and 200 medley relays. Leah Webber joined the fun with second and third place finishes in the 100 and 200 Fly posting personal best efforts in both inching ever so close to the Junior standard. Leah joined Susan and Robyn in the victorious 200 medley relay. Meredith Drummond finished second in the 200 Breast and 6th in the 1650. Madison Boswell earned a trip to the awards stand with a 7th place 100 Fly finish while securing 11th in the 200 Fly and 14th 100 Free. Sommer Harris secured 11th and 12th place finishes in the 100 IM and 200 Breast respectfully. Congratulations to all for excellent contributions to the Virginia Zones team. |
