LAPS FOR LOOT HARVEST 2008

First of all, a thank you is due to all of the swimmers, coaches, and parents who helped this become a memorable morning in the life of “swim-a-thons.”

We had good weather, not too many other-sport conflicts, and a lot of goodwill for this event.

It is a real credit to our team that so many folks stepped up so late in the scheme of things, and yet not a surprise.  There were so many volunteers that there was not enough work to keep them busy.

I am hoping that each swimmer has told you a name of one of the swimmers who was in their lane whom they had never met before.  A big thank you is due to the older swimmers in each session who helped the younger swimmers feel comfortable, and a huge kudos is due to the younger swimmers in each session for their courage in participating with the “big kids.”  Last, but not least, Laps for Loot would not have happened without the support of our coaches and for that we are very thankful.

Keep your pledges coming, and remember to bring in your “loot” by no later than December 15th.  It needs to be given to Marla in the office, or a coach, who will give the envelope to Marla.
